KYK Dormitory Placement Results Announced: How to Check the 2026-2027 Result
The long-awaited KYK dormitory placement results for the 2026-2027 academic year have been released. Students who applied to the dormitories operated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports are now able to find out where they have been placed through the e-Government system.
The announcement was made by Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak. Following the statement, students who will move to another city for university or need accommodation through the Credit and Dormitories Institution began searching for answers to questions such as “How can I check my KYK dormitory result?” and “Which dormitory have I been assigned to?”
KYK dormitory application results are available
The General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories announced that the placement process for the 2026-2027 academic year had been completed. In its official statement, students were reminded that they must approve their undertaking document through e-Government by 11:00 p.m. on September 10.
The announcement emphasized that completing this approval on time is essential. Students who fail to confirm the undertaking document within the specified period may lose their right to complete the registration process.
How to check KYK dormitory placement results
Students can access their results by logging in to the e-Government platform with their Turkish Republic identification number and password. After signing in, they should search for the service titled “GSB Dormitory Application Result Inquiry.”
The result page may contain several important details, including:
– The student’s placement status
– The name and address of the assigned dormitory
– The city where the dormitory is located
– Registration dates
– Required documents
– Instructions regarding the next stages of the process
Students should carefully review every field on the result screen. A placement result alone may not be sufficient to complete accommodation procedures; registration, payment and document submission requirements may also apply.
What should students do after placement?
Students who have been assigned to a KYK dormitory should first confirm the undertaking document within the announced deadline. They should then check the registration conditions of the relevant dormitory and prepare the requested documents before arriving.
Although many records are completed digitally, certain dormitories may request additional paperwork during the initial admission process. For this reason, students should keep identification documents, university registration information, health reports or other requested documents readily available.
It is also advisable to save or print the result screen. This can be useful if a technical problem occurs during registration or if the dormitory administration asks for proof of placement.
When will KYK dormitories open?
According to the announced schedule, the new accommodation period in KYK dormitories will begin on September 14, 2026. Duty dormitories will continue providing service until that date for students who need early accommodation.
Students whose university classes begin before September 14 will be able to stay in duty dormitories from the date their courses start. Those whose classes begin after September 14 will generally be allowed to enter their assigned dormitory three days before the beginning of the university’s academic calendar.
Students should confirm the exact entry date with the dormitory administration because opening procedures may differ depending on the institution and local arrangements.
How much is the monthly KYK dormitory fee?
The monthly dormitory fee for the 2026-2027 academic year has been increased. The fee, which was 1,290 Turkish lira in the previous year, has risen to 1,590 Turkish lira. This represents an increase of approximately 23.3 percent.
The announced figure should be evaluated together with other possible costs. Students may also need to plan for deposits, registration-related payments, transportation expenses and personal needs. The actual amount payable can vary depending on the dormitory category and the conditions applied by the institution.
KYK dormitory fees by type
KYK dormitories are classified into different types, from Type 1 to Type 6. The price of accommodation depends on factors such as the building’s physical facilities, room capacity, location, equipment and services provided to residents.
Therefore, students placed in different dormitory types may not pay exactly the same amount. Higher-type dormitories may offer fewer occupants per room, newer facilities, improved common areas or additional amenities. The final fee becomes clear according to the dormitory to which the student has been assigned.
What if a student is not placed in a dormitory?
Students who are not placed in the first allocation should continue monitoring later announcements. Additional placements may be made when vacant beds become available, particularly after registration deadlines expire or some students cancel their accommodation.
Applicants may also need to check whether an objection, update or supplementary application period is opened. Missing information in the original application or failure to meet eligibility conditions can affect the outcome, so students should review the details shown in the e-Government result screen.
Can students request a dormitory change?
A student’s initial placement is not always permanent. If there are valid reasons such as a change of university, faculty, city, health condition or family circumstances, a dormitory transfer request may be possible under the relevant rules.
Transfer requests are assessed according to available capacity and the documents submitted. Approval is not automatic, and students should continue staying in their assigned dormitory until a formal change is confirmed.
Important reminders for students
Students should avoid waiting until the final hours to approve their undertaking document. Heavy traffic on the e-Government platform, forgotten passwords or technical problems may delay the process.
They should also verify that the personal information displayed in the system is correct. Any discrepancy involving identity details, university information or placement data should be reported through the official administrative channels without delay.
The 2026-2027 KYK placement process is therefore not completed merely by viewing the result. Students must confirm the undertaking, follow the registration timetable and prepare for the opening date of their assigned dormitory.
