Rain Showers Expected in Four Cities as Temperatures Rise: Weather Forecast for Today
According to the latest assessment by the Turkish State Meteorological Service, weather conditions across most of the country will remain partly cloudy or clear today. However, localized rain and thunderstorms are expected in the inland districts of Giresun, Trabzon, Rize and Artvin, particularly around midday.
Temperatures are forecast to increase by between 2 and 4 degrees in inland areas and the northeastern parts of the country. In other regions, no major change is expected. The southern provinces will experience generally light winds from southerly directions, occasionally reaching moderate strength.
Where will rain occur?
The most notable precipitation is expected in the inner districts of Giresun, Trabzon, Rize and Artvin. Showers may develop locally during the afternoon and could be accompanied by thunder. Since these showers are expected to be intermittent and localized, conditions may vary significantly between coastal areas and nearby inland districts.
Residents and visitors in the eastern Black Sea region should remain prepared for sudden changes in the weather. Short-term heavy showers may lead to temporarily reduced visibility and slippery roads, especially in elevated areas.

Warm weather will dominate the south
The highest temperatures are expected in the southern and southeastern provinces. Adana may reach 37°C, while Şanlıurfa is forecast to see 35°C. Denizli could also climb to 36°C. Antalya, Muğla, Burdur, Diyarbakır and Gaziantep will remain warm, with temperatures ranging from 33°C to 34°C.
People planning outdoor activities in these areas should take precautions against heat exposure, particularly during the afternoon. Drinking sufficient water, avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and choosing lightweight clothing will help reduce the effects of rising temperatures.
Conditions in western cities
Western provinces will generally have stable weather. Izmir, Bursa, Muğla, Denizli and Uşak will be mostly clear, while Istanbul, Ankara and Kırklareli will experience partly cloudy skies. Temperatures in the west will remain close to seasonal levels, reaching 28°C in Istanbul and Ankara and 32°C in Izmir and Bursa.
Morning and evening hours may feel more comfortable than the afternoon, especially in inland western districts. Visibility is expected to remain generally good, and no widespread adverse weather is forecast.
Black Sea region requires attention
The Black Sea coastline will be partly cloudy, with the possibility of localized showers increasing toward the inland sections. Trabzon and Rize will record around 24°C, while Samsun is expected to reach 28°C. Zonguldak and Sinop will remain slightly cooler, with temperatures of 26°C and 27°C respectively.
Drivers traveling through mountainous roads should be cautious during sudden showers. Wet surfaces, short-term water accumulation and reduced visibility may occur in areas affected by thunderstorms.
Wind forecast
Winds will generally be light. In southern provinces, they are expected to blow from the south and may occasionally reach moderate strength. Although no widespread stormy conditions are anticipated, residents in open areas, coastal locations and high ground should be alert to brief increases in wind speed.
Overall, most of the country will have calm and warm weather today. The main exception will be the inland parts of the eastern Black Sea provinces, where localized rain and thunderstorms are expected. Temperatures will continue to rise in inland and northeastern areas, while southern provinces will remain notably hot.
