Passenger Bus Turns Into a Fireball on the TEM Highway in Bolu
A passenger bus traveling along the TEM Highway in Bolu was destroyed by fire after flames erupted in the engine compartment. The incident occurred near the Çaydurt area, causing concern among motorists and temporarily disrupting traffic on the route.
According to the initial information, the bus was moving through the Bolu section of the highway when smoke began rising from the engine area. The exact cause of the malfunction and subsequent fire has not yet been determined.
The driver noticed the smoke and immediately took the vehicle onto the emergency lane. After bringing the bus to a stop, the driver acted quickly to prevent the vehicle from remaining in the active traffic lanes. However, the fire intensified within a short time and spread from the engine compartment to the rest of the bus.
The vehicle was soon completely engulfed in flames, turning into what witnesses described as a fireball. Other drivers on the highway noticed the incident and contacted the emergency services. Firefighters and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene following the reports.
Fire crews intervened against the rapidly spreading flames and eventually brought the blaze under control. Once the fire was extinguished, it became clear that the bus had suffered extensive damage. The vehicle was completely burned and left unusable.
No details were immediately provided about possible injuries or the condition of the passengers. The authorities began an investigation to establish how the fire started and determine whether it was caused by a mechanical failure, an electrical problem, overheating or another technical issue.
